There is always a core to the soul
A core that has always been
Always will be
Thickets grow, envelop and masquerade the core
And we are no longer recognizable to ourselves
Regardless of the damage caused to the heart and mind by self or another
The core remains unchanged, unaltered
it is steadfast, secure and strong
New beginnings require letting go, yes
But thickets will not simply be let go of
There has to be an undermining, cutting away all that was allowed to grow
It requires blood, sweat and tears
And what remains is vulnerable
New Beginnings meet us at the core
There is always more to be revealed
More truth to discover
Ideas to be churned
Love to give
There is always a core to the soul
A core that has always been
Always will be
